Let’s face it, we could all use a little encouragement these days. People who have been in the real estate industry for many years and have made a great living with it are starving. Everytime I talk to another realtor they have nothing but negative things to say. I can’t say that I really blame them. I know even in Madison, Mississippi “one of the top ten places in America to raise a family,” is taking a hit. It is just so hard to keep a positive outlook when everything just seems so negative. Thats fear! We just have to stay hard at it and operate on faith. I know that I live and work in a family and a business that is a faith-fueled-machine and even though times are hard God always provides. I just want to tell the rest of you out there to keep the faith!
RECESSION! RISING FUEL COSTS! THE ECONOMY IS DOOMED!!!….
…atleast thats what the news has everyone believing. The truth is, there has never been a better time to purchase a home. This is a buyer’s market! There is a seemingly endless selection of homes and the costs are low! We may never see opportunities like this again. Economics aside, your dream home is waiting for you at a price you can afford. Can’t find one you like, BUILD ONE! Hampton Hills subdivision in Madsison County has 1/3 acre lots for $41,500!!! Thats right, $41,500! These lots appraise for $49,000. It is a mere .9 mi from Madison Crossing school, a short drive from Renaissance Shopping Center, Nissan and the City of Madison. Hampton Hills boasts restrictive covenants, two scenic lakes, and now 1600 s.f. minimums! For more information, contact Ryan Weaver at 601-665-7364 or shoot me an email at rjweaver1987@hotmail.com

Yesterday, I rode around with my broker trying to drum up some new business and what we saw in some places was terribly sad! There were houses all over Rankin County that were only half finished, “STOP WORK ORDERS” posted on unfinished houses, signs in front of finished houses that had been there so long that they were falling apart, and ”FOR RENT” signs in front of finished houses that builders were just trying to rent out to avoid handing them over to the bank. It truly saddened me to see what has happened to so many builders in our area. My family has been in the home building and developing industry for many years and yesterday I saw names of alot of guys that I have known for a long time, successful people, losing everything.
I know these hard times are very discouraging for everyone in the industry. There are alot of great, hard working people losing everything, but a new time is coming. We have to have faith. We have to trust that things are turning around! So all of us in the real estate business, let’s hold our heads up high and stay confident!
“Sometimes it seems like such a hard life
But there’s good times around the bend
The roller coaster’s gotta roll down to the bottom
Before it can climb to the top again….”
